CZ: China’s Combat Robots Could Be More Dangerous Than Nuclear Weapons

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said that AI-powered combat robots could pose a greater threat than nuclear weapons. His comments came after videos surfaced showing Chinese robots designed for military use.

According to Zhao, the integration of AI into the military will lead to the emergence of autonomous combat machines across multiple countries. He noted that such systems raise serious concerns due to the risk of losing control—for example, if they are hacked or begin operating without human oversight.

He was referring to so-called “robot wolves”—quadruped machines capable of navigating difficult terrain and potentially carrying weapons. Similar systems are already being tested in several countries, raising fears of a new AI-driven arms race.

Zhao believes the core issue is that these technologies could become widely accessible. Unlike nuclear weapons, AI systems may be far harder to control on a global scale.

Experts note that autonomous weapons and their regulation are being discussed at the international level, but there is still no unified framework for controlling such technologies.
