China will add about 3,000 flights to Europe.

Air China, the country’s main carrier, plans to increase its flights by more than 1,000; China Southern Airlines by around 800; and China Eastern Airlines by about 650. Other, smaller airlines are also planning to expand their flight schedules. All of these changes will appear in the summer timetable.

Unlike Western airlines, Chinese carriers can use Russian airspace for flights to Europe. This shortens flight times and helps save fuel.

According to Aviation Week, in summer 2026 the total number of seats on flights between China and Europe (excluding Russia) will increase to 12.1 million, compared with 10.4 million in 2025.
